Honest one shot: Cinnamon Cream from Awsum Sauce

When I was at CVE I stopped by the Evolution Vape/The Vape Depot booth and immediately recognized one of the gentlemen behind the counter as a minor vape celeb. I pointed out the fact that I recognized him and although at the time I couldn’t recall his name he was quite entertained by the fact that I did in fact recognize him. The gentleman as I know him goes by the name The RealVapeJay and can be seen on YouTube although there hasn’t been much activity on his channel over the past year with the exception of some CVE Edmonton related videos. He was actually teamed up with yet another vape celeb but I’ll save that for another review. For recognizing him he graciously offered up a bottle of juice and since I was actually familiar with one of them but never actually reviewed it I happily accepted. Here are my honest thoughts on Awsum Sauce – Cinnamon Cream from The Vape Depot.

Bottles: The juice comes in a clear 60ml chubby gorilla style bottle with a rather plain looking mostly grey label. Right smack dab in the middle it bears the brand name ‘Awsum Sauce’ and just below it the name of the flavour which in this case is ‘Cinnamon Cream’. They’ve got all the usual good stuff we like to see in fine print around the sides. Not sure of the ratio and I couldn’t find it listed anywhere but I’d guess it’s about 70vg and the bottle I got was in 3mg.

Setup: Testing was done mostly in a Hadaly clone with a three core alien(3×28/36ni80) build from the Canadian Coil makers SaddleHorse Blues, 4/5 wraps on a 2.5mm coming out to 0.28 ohms and running between 35-45w. Using Puff cotton, rda rinsed and rewicked in between. Here’s a shot of a fresh build:

Awsum Sauce – Cinnamon Cream

Cinnamon Cream Awsum Sauce

Site description: Just like the cinnamon spread you put on your toast.

My Thoughts: I’ve been a fan of cinnamon based flavours since I started vaping, actually my love for cinnamon probably started as a young child with cinnamon French toast being one of my all time favorite childhood dishes so it’s safe to say I tend to gravitate to most things cinnamon. With Cinnamon Cream it was love at first vape. I somehow ended up with a bottle of this in my bag at CVE Toronto a couple years back and quickly ripped through it. At first I had trouble finding where it even came from but eventually found it originated from The Vape Depot in Calgary. I never actually did get around to picking more up but it’s been on my radar since then.

Tucking in to it I’m greeted with a warm creamy mix of cinnamon and cream. It’s a touch on the sweet side and something about it reminds me a bit of an apple cinnamon type flavour but with the apple drastically toned down to let the cinnamon really shine. It might just be my brains interpretation of the creamy cinnamon mix and there may not actually be any apple in it but that’s how it registers with my tongue. It’s extremely simplistic in it’s approach with really just the two main notes cinnamon and cream making up the flavour. The cinnamon is nice and light without any bite or sharpness to it. It doesn’t come off as dry either as many cinnamon flavours can, instead it’s nicely rounded down thanks to the rich cream that accompanies it.

The cream has a nice sweetness to it and really thickens up the flavour. It’s not buttery and I don’t really pick up a strong vanilla note, just nice rich sweet cream. Of the hundreds of cinnamon sugar and cinnamon cream flavours that I’ve tried this one stands out among the crowd with it’s perfect balance of cinnamon spice and thick rich cream. It’s one of those flavours that if I pick it up I have a real hard time putting it back down. For fans of cinnamon flavours, especially those who enjoy rich creamy ones, this one is a definite must for the list!!

Overall:

I have to say this is hands down one of my favorite cinnamon based flavours out there. Sure it’s a super simple profile but the way they’ve mixed it is absolutely perfect in my book. It’s also very reasonably priced and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of cinnamon based flavours. So thanks Jay for hooking me up with this fantastic treat and again my apologies for not remembering your name at the time, it was a long day…
