Riot Squad Eliquid is an UK based brand. If you’re on Instagram I’m sure you’ve seen these bottles around. They’ve just expanded into Canada. You should be able to find them in most online and B&M stores.
I’m one of the handful of people picked by Riot Squad to take photos and post them on Instagram to get the word out. Writing reviews wasn’t a part of the arrangement but I couldn’t help myself after trying them out. They taste so, so much better than I expected, all of them. I’m really blown away. I’ll try to keep my excitement down and keep the descriptions as short and to the point as much as I can.
Some juice smell fantastic but don’t taste as great. Some don’t smell that great, or much at all but they still knock your socks off. These flavors are a rare combination where they smell great AND they taste great.
Most of their flavors are a combination tart and sweet citrus fruits. if that’s up your alley you have to give them a shot. They are all 70VG/30PG. They are not exactly easy on the coils but they are certainly not among the worst offenders.
Chubby Gorilla makes their signature 60ml bullet shaped bottles. They might appear unattractive to some at first but in person they are actually really nice. Not only they look great, they function better than your typical Chubby Gorilla bottles. The plastic is softer and are much easier to push. The base of the dropper tip is also much narrower, so they don’t gather juice like normal CG bottles. You won’t make a mess while trying to fill your tank!
Apple Smash Up
“Apple and rhubarb gone rogue. Deliciously delinquent flavours of hot apple and a rude punch of rhubarb”
My god what an awesome apple pie! I’ve tried quite a few and this is hands down the best.
The crust part of the pie is subtle but significant. You smell it more than you taste. There’s a generous amount of deep, rich butter that’s just so addictive. I don’t detect any cinnamon which is probably a good news to a lot of people.
Paired with this delicious crust is the most deliciously sweet and tart caramelized apple. A lot of apple pie flavors feature a delicious, but still raw apple. The apple in this one is perfectly caramelized, just like the real thing! It is freakin amazing and it’ll definitely make you keep coming back for more.
On the exhale the rhubarb kicks in and adds to the sweetness. It’s not as sweet as the other apple pies I’ve tried but it’s plenty sweet. That’s actually one of the things Riot Squad does really well. The flavors are sweet but they’re not sickeningly “premium” sweet.
Apple Smash Up is my favorite one of the bunch, and that’s saying a lot considering how much I like Sub Lime, Pink Grenade and Strawberry Scream. Apple Pie is one of those flavors that you go numb to quite quickly but this one holds up fill after fill. That’s what makes it a perfect ADV but I like to use this as a change up flavor to really experience all of the notes.
“Subversive flavours of sweet acidic lime and lemon, that will mess up with your senses and leave you with a sour aftertaste.”
It’s a full-bodied, juicy lemon / lime flavor. Lemon Lime flavors are usually flat but this one has a lot of depth. The zestiness stays strong throughout the puff. Very tasty stuff.
It’s not very acidic to the point that it’ll trigger an acid reflux. It’s got just enough sweetness to make the sourness pleasantly stand out. Leaves a fantastic, semi sour aftertaste that makes you crave the next puff. I can vape this continuously for a very long time for that reason. It’s also a great switch up flavor to take a break from the creams and custards.
It’s very refreshing, one of my favorites. Almost all of the Riot Squad flavors have one or more citrus notes and I love that about them.
It’s got a decent amount of cooling going on.
“A powerful mix of bashed tropical fruit, combined to deliver a tangy, intense and sparkly burst with a warm aftertaste. An exotic blast of flavors”
Pineapple is the first thing that pops into your head on the first puff. It’s not a monotonous pineapple like many other flavors I’ve tried. It’s got a sweet, ripe note to it that makes it more authentic than most. Very juicy, almost as if you’re drinking it. I taste some kind of a citrus fruit in the background as well that adds to the juiciness.
It’s a little tangy and once again not overly sweet. It’s pretty great as is, but I think I would’ve loved it more if it was more tart/sour.
It has no cooling/menthol.
“Prepare for a battering, this flavour will hammer your taste buds like an Iron Bar. A refreshing wham followed by an energising citrus hit”
I can’t quite figure out what the top note is. Is it a green gooseberry? Papaya mixed with citrus? Not sure. It’s an exotic, wild note that complements the citrus notes that follow. Like all the other flavors it’s quite juicy and not at all dry. It’s sour but not overly so. This might be the sourest of the bunch.
It’s similar to Grapple and Slapcurrant in the sense that you keep taking puff after puff because how much the flavor grows on you. I quite like it, leaves your mouth feeling neutral. I’m sorry I can’t describe it any better. I think Menthol Molotov tastes the closest to this flavor without the additional menthol.
There’s a tiny bit of cooling sensation in this juice.
“An outrageously sweet strawberry that will break havoc on your taste buds, watch out for the fruity edge that will have you all fizzed up”
It doesn’t taste exactly like an authentic strawberry, it doesn’t taste like a candied strawberry either. It’s somewhere in between, leaning closer to a real strawberry without the top “strawberry” note. It’s not overly sweet.
It has that signature Riot citrus touch to it, you can tell it’s part of the same lineup. What a Clementine is to a Navel Orange is exactly what this flavor is to your typical artificial strawberry flavoring. It’s mellower, sweeter while still maintaining a tang. This is one of my favorites of the bunch but honestly, in a blind test I probably wouldn’t have been able to tell that it’s a strawberry flavor.
I can vape this all day and still want more six month from now.
It has no cooling/menthol.
“Let fizzed up chaos reign. A Virtuous fruit refresher gone mad, with a sweet underlying flavour of menthol.”
Heavy menthol followed by touch of sweet, citrus-y fruits. Sweeter than all the other flavors. Almost tastes like a lemon/lime/orange soda with a healthy dose of menthol.
The sweet, menthol doesn’t work quite as well with the fruits in my opinion. Certainly not as well as it does in Menthol Molotov. It’s a little too sweet too. This is probably my least favorite of the bunch but it is not a chucker by any means!
“Prepare to get in a fizz as this weapon is charged up with lemon and explosive strawberries.”
Another favorite of mine. Imagine blending Sub Lime and Strawberry Scream to perfection. The zestiness of Sub Lime paired with the ripe, bright sweetness of Strawberry Scream. When I got the package I tried all of the flavors first without reading the descriptions. Back then it tasted like a very well balanced grapefruit to me, and I can still picture it quite easily. It’s another example of one of Riot’s hallmarks, delicately balancing sweetness and sourness without one overpowering the other. This is what makes these flavors perfect for all day vaping.
Oh and it smells incredible too! If a drink smelled and tasted like this I’d drink it by the gallon!
It’s got a tiny bit of cooling in it. Not as much as Sub Lime but it’s definitely noticeable in the aftertaste.
Grapple and Slapcurrant
“Swimming flavours of pummeled apple and whacking blackcurrant. Expect a bash from this one.”
I don’t taste any apple on the top note, certainly not the apple that’s in Apple Smash Up. The aftertaste is very similar to the tart, apply-y aftertaste of Allan’s apple juice. There’s just enough sweetness to amplify the tartness. Usually when an e-liquid has apple you notice it straight away, but it hides in the aftertaste of this flavor.
I’ve never tried a blackcurrant so I don’t know how this flavor represents the fruit. This reminds me of cherry. It tastes a little medicinal but it’s not nearly as strong or off-putting.
I am not a fan of how the flavor starts out, but I love the taste it leaves in the mouth in the exhale and onwards! After a few puff the “blackcurrant” disappears and all you’re left with is that delicious, tart and apple juice aftertaste!
It has no cooling/menthol.
“A tropical fruit menthol attack to sabotage your senses and vandalise your taste buds. Just light the rag!
Have you ever smelled a citrus soap from Lush and wanted to take a bite off of it? Well this tastes like this one Lush soap I can’t remember the name of at the moment. Once you get past the heavy dose of menthol it’s a very tasty flavor. I taste a bit of papaya, pineapple and Riot’s usual citrus mix. It’s a stronger flavor than Cooler Chaos.
I kind of half wish that they made a regular version of this, but Iron Bruise is pretty close.
They certainly weren’t kidding when they named it Menthol Molotov. There’s a lot of menthol in this, I’d say just a touch more than Cooler Chaos. It doesn’t taste minty and in fact works quite well with the flavor.
I’m no fan of menthol but I freakin’ love this!
I love most of these flavors. They are just the perfect bunch of juicy, refreshing, sweet and tart flavors. Even the ones I don’t love I can still vape them all day. If I didn’t try all 9 at once, if I randomly bumped into any one of these, even my least favorite one, it would catch my attention.
Very rarely do you try an entire line, 9 flavors in this case, and like every single one of them.
I let all of my friends try them and they were equally impressed. Apple Smash Up and Pink Grenade were the biggest hits!
I highly recommend you to at least try them out if you see them at your local B&M.
