Here’s a new set I received from the wonderful folks at Theory Labs. Theory Labs is an incredible company from St. Catharines Ontario run by a gentleman named Farouk. At CVE Toronto I was fortunate to see Farouk and his father Peter and they were kind enough to set me up with the new line they recently launched called The Tasteful Line. Not that anything they’ve released before wasn’t tasteful but this new set based on some classic desserts is definitely full of taste. Here are my honest thoughts on The Tasteful Line from Theory Labs.
Bottles: The juices come in opaque white Chubby Gorilla bottles. They have a really elegant filigrees covered label that matches the aesthetic of the line very well. I do have a couple minor complaints though. Since the names of the liquids are unrelated to the flavours it’d be nice to see a brief outline of the profile so it’s a bit easier to remember which one is which. The other issue is the opaque bottles, yes they look wonderful but seeing how much juice you actually have left is definitely a challenge. Still the overall look of the bottles is fantastic and those are hardly significant complaints. As for the juices they are all 80vg blends and the set I got was in 3mg. Here’s a shot of the classy looking bottles I received:
Setup: Testing was done mostly in a Hadaly clone with a three core alien(3×28/36ni80) build from the Canadian Coil makers SaddleHorse Blues, 4/5 wraps on a 2.5mm coming out to 0.28 ohms and running between 35-45w. Using Puff cotton, rda rinsed and rewicked in between. Here’s a shot of a fresh build:

Exquisite from Theory Labs
Site description: A Warm Sugar Cookie with a touch of Banana
My thoughts: This one was easily my favorite of the line and probably the richest of the three. It’s a wonderful blend of an Italian sugar cookie and soft baked banana. The cookie is the more forward of the two flavours with the banana settling in on the tail end. It’s creamy and smooth, rich with a dark almost caramel or brown sugar/molasses sort of taste probably from the sugar cookie. It reminds me a bit of a Bananas Foster but without the hint of rum that it’s usually known for or like a rich banana custard with a dash of spice to it. If you’ve ever dipped Nilla wafers into a banana pudding it’s not too far off from that, it’s just got a bit more spice. The cinnamon though is pretty chill with the sweet creamy banana rounding off any sharp edges it can sometimes have. No sharp bite or dry taste, just a nice undertone of spice. There’s something really comforting about this one, like a warm hug when you’re feeling down. Any fans of rich creamy desserts could appreciate this one especially if you enjoy bananas and cookies.
Elegant from Theory Labs
Site description: Classic Key Lime Pie
My thoughts: I really came around to lime flavours just last year. A couple years back almost all lime flavours tasted like wax to me but it seems the industry has mostly sorted that out now. With Elegant I get a mix of bright lime and sweet meringue. It’s got a real citrus zest to it, not so much tart or sour as it is zesty. The one thing I don’t really get from it is the crust, to me it’s more of a key lime curd with a bright meringue topping instead of whipped cream. Sort of like a key lime crossed with lemon meringue if that makes sense. At times I almost get a lemon pound cake kind of taste which I’d assume is from the citrus but could also be from the meringue as I find it tends to have an almost lemony taste to it. This one is a little more zesty then others like it which I’m sure many will appreciate. As I mentioned I don’t get any of that odd waxy taste that I used to get all the time but I do get a sort of green taste, something that reminds me of cactus or aloe a real fresh sort of taste. It could just be the mix of flavours playing tricks but this Key Lime Pie definitely has a bit of zest! One of the brighter and more natural renditions of a key lime that I’ve taste and another one to add to the list!
Refined from Theory Labs
Site description: Coconut Cream Pie
My thoughts: Refined is like sweet creamy coconut with an almost custard cream like taste. Again this one doesn’t have a very strong taste of crust to it and really is more about the coconut cream filling than the shell it sits in. I get a sort of mix of coconut flavours from it like some fresh grated coconut, some coconut cream but also a bit of dry shredded coconut and maybe even a slight hint of toasted coconut. With such a focus on coconut it’s borderline like sun tan lotion but if you like coconut like I do you’ll probably dig this. At times it reminds me of coconut macaroons or the first bite of a toasted coconut donut. If I had to describe it I’d say it’s like the creamy topping of a coconut cream pie covered in fresh grated coconut. It’s really quite pleasant and a really welcome profile now that it’s summer but one thing I noticed at least with me is after vaping on it for a while it sometimes goes a bit flat and I lose some of that fantastic coconut essence that I adore about it. It’s always great when I first pick it up but for that reason this one doesn’t quite work as an all day at least for me. I personally love coconut and despite that little drop off it’s still one of the better coconut flavours by theory labs I’ve tried.
I’m already a big fan of Theory Labs, they make some really wonderful juice and I expected nothing less from this new line so I’m happy to say I wasn’t let down in the least. If you’re like me and enjoy rich and tasty dessert flavours then these are definitely worth checking out!! Not only are Theory Labs a great bunch of people but they make some really fantastic juice. So huge thanks to Farouk and the team, you absolutely nailed it on this one!!
