Honest review time: The One from Beard Vape Co.

Here’s a look at a set that’s been popping up quite a bit on social media lately. It was sent over from the good folks at Fat Panda Vapes out of Winnipeg Manitoba but the juice is by The Beard Vape Co. out of the US and I believe distributed up here by Fat Panda. With a name like ‘The One’ there’s a lot to live up to but as you will see they didn’t really let me down. Here are my honest thoughts on The One by The Beard Vape Co.

Bottles:

The juices came in little 30ml chubby gorilla style sample bottles but I believe they usually come in 100ml bottles only. The labels all have a similar theme among them with the name ‘The One’ at the top, a series of images depicting the flavour below it and each one’s colour matches the flavour so it’s pretty obvious which one is which. Mine were labeled sample so they might look a bit different from the retail versions but it looks like they include all of the good stuff we like to see in fine print around the sides and bottom. I believe the set are all 70vg blends and the ones I got were in 3mg. Here’s a shot of the bottles I was sent:

Setup:

Testing was done mostly in a Hadaly clone with a three core alien(3×28/36ni80) build from the Canadian Coil makers SaddleHorse Blues, 4/5 wraps on a 2.5mm coming out to 0.28 ohms and running between 35-45w. Using Puff cotton, rda rinsed and rewicked in between. Here’s a shot of a fresh build:

The One Blueberry

Site description: Blueberry is an incredible frosted donut cereal soaked in Blueberry milk that will keep you coming back for more.

My thoughts: I find blueberry flavours are not an easy thing to pull off. Most of the time they come off as floral or perfumey and rarely do they capture the true taste of natural blueberries. With The One Blueberry I get a really pleasant blueberry flavour that’s sort of in between a jam and fresh berries but I also get a blueberry fritter sort of taste that’s somewhat light on the fritter. Like it’s not quite as spicy as other donut flavours I’ve tried but still has the essence of donut in there. The blueberry at times reminds me of those little candied blueberries that you find in the donuts or sometimes muffins. Although the blueberry is sweet and somewhat jammy it’s not thick or heavy in the least. Instead it’s rather light and delicate and it’s much more milky then it is creamy, punctuated with a nice sweet blueberry tone. It also has a very mild cereal undertone and if anyone remembers BooBerry cereal I suppose it’s reminiscent of something like that, at least the milk in the bowl afterwards since that cereal aspect really is quite mild. I could be imagining it but on occasion I pick up a very slight citrus note which I feel helps brighten it up just a touch. It’s one of the better blueberry blends that I’ve tried and I really appreciate that it has so much else going on in it.

The One Lemon

Site description: The One Lemon Crumble Cake E-Juice by Beard Vape Co. is an amazingly accurate representation of freshly-baked, homemade Lemon Crumble Cake. This classic treat begins with moist, tender cake, which is filled with bright and aromatic lemon cream filling. This mouthwatering flavor is then topped off with sweet crumbles and a dust of powdered sugar, rounding off the exhale immaculately.

My thoughts: When I first got in to vaping I’ll admit I wasn’t really into lemon flavours but then I came around to them a couple years back and they pretty much dominated my rotation last year. I’m not quite over them yet so needless to say I was looking forward to The One Lemon from this set. From The One Lemon I get a nice mix of lemon pound cake and a sweet sort of lemon cream. It’s nice and fresh and tart but I found it comes with a slight bit of added throat hit. It’s not too strong or anything but compared to the other two in the set it definitely stands out. Despite that little bit of throat hit the flavour in general is still super pleasant a little sweet, a little tart with a nice powdered sugar finish. Pretty much the sort of thing I fell in love with but unfortunately in my search for The One lemon, this one isn’t quite it. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing particularly wrong with it, it just doesn’t really offer much beyond what a lot of other lemon flavours do so for me it’s not quite ‘The One’.

The One Strawberry

Site description: Beard Vape Co. loves to number off their e liquid flavors, and now they’re bringing you THE ONE. Your fate has chosen this flavor for a variety of reasons, and by variety, we mean all the flavors involved in this single 100ml bottle. The One by Beard Vape Co. will send your sweet tooth on a whirlwind of divinity with notes of fluffy doughnuts, juicy strawberries, fruity cereal, and of course milk to roll with it.

My thoughts: Most people who follow my reviews know how I feel about strawberry cream flavours. It’s probably the fact that I’ve reviewed more of them then I could shake a stick at that caused me to ‘burn out’ on them. Believe it or not I did once upon a time enjoy a good S&C flavour but it’s been quite some time since I’ve found one that’s stood out. Well the search is over, I’ve found The One. From The One I get a really incredible mix of strawberry milk, strawberry donut, strawberry cereal and of course fresh strawberries. Sort of the everything and the kitchen sink approach but with strawberry. Ok so the donut and cereal are probably not strawberry flavoured but with the strawberry milk and fresh strawberry the whole thing tastes saturated in strawberries. The more notable notes that I pick up are the strawberry milk and the cereal. The fresh strawberries and the donut really sort of blend in with the other flavours not really standing out much on their own but they definitely add to it. It’s one of the first S&C flavours that reminds me of drinking Strawberry Nesquik that I’ve had in years. If you asked me right now for a good strawberry cream recommendation, this would be,,,, The One.

Overall:

I was thoroughly impressed by the lineup, each one of them is a super tasty mix with a focus on a particular fruit and each one of them is well done. They even managed to tackle one of my least favorite flavour profiles and absolutely nailed it. I suppose there’s a reason they’ve been so popular online and they definitely get my recommendation as ‘The Ones’ to check out!! So huge thanks to Lee and the gents from Fat Panda, thanks so much for sending these my way!!
