VapersCanadaI have to admit SMOK produced a great kit with the Nord and the coil QC has stayed fairly consistent… not something that was easy to say in the past. SMOK comes back with a great little kit that’s able to give you near dripper quality in an AIO form factor. In what might be the best AIO device out there for direct lung vapers, here’s what’s in the box of the “Real Pod Mod”:

Rebuildable RBA head is coming! THB, the only reason I gave this a second look, but this is working really well with the stock coils.

Boxy form factor – the finishes aren’t bad to look at. I believe this is currently being shipped in 8 different colorways. 99mm long puts it just a hair taller than the Orion including the drip tip. The mouth piece is directional being a slot type, but it isn’t horrible and easy to get used to. TFT screen is bright, readable and you can change colors. Micro USB port is on the bottom – but does allow for pass-thru vaping. 1500mah capacity emulates a single 18650 setup. The unit charges in just over 2 hours.
Usage:
In the contents – you’ll notice it says it comes with 2 pods. It in fact has an RPM pod using the RPM coil – plus the kit comes with a Nord pod that uses the Nord coil. The Nord pod offers slightly less airflow but that’s more a function of the coil itself. The Nord pod will take any iteration of the Nord coil family.The RPM coil is excellent. The pod with this coil give a nice airy, flavorful vape combined with dense vapor. We’re talking near dripper quality here. Combine that with the 1-40w adjustibility…you have a great combo.
The pod capacity is decent, though chain vapers will have to refill often when the watts go up. That being said – the pod fits snuggly, is easy to fill – and – I haven’t experienced any condensation or leaks – period. Both RPM and Nord coils are press-fit, so no screwing required. Please note – there have been some reports of tanks cracking – best advice not to use known tank crackers like heavy citrus.
The SMOK RPM has a solid feel and with the RPM coil, you’ll love the flavor this thing produces. The Nord pod pretty much assures you’ll always be able to find coils just about anywhere. There are 4 versions of RPM coils out – I’m quite happy using the 0.4ohm mesh. The 1-watt incremental setting might not be “fine” enough for higher ohms, but overall – the RPM chipset functions well.
Purchased on a whim – recommended…. But still waiting on the RBA coil head.
