Honest review time: A few flavours from CanadaVapes

Here’s a look at some interesting juice that was sent over from a new company to me called Canada Vapes. They’re based out of London Ontario and have a brick and mortar shop where they’ve been serving the local community for years now. They’re are also available online via their site CanadaVapes.com which is always handy for the rest of us. One of them must be a Redditor because they were familiar with my reviews and reached out about some of the juices they carry. I’m pretty sure these are house made liquids but I didn’t see any details on their site about where or how they are produced so bear that in mind when you check them out. Here are my honest thoughts on some flavours from Canada Vapes.

Bottles/Packaging:

The juices come in clear OG needle tipped bottles that are nice and soft and easy to squeeze. Two came in 30ml bottles and one was in a 60ml bottle. I’m personally a big fan of these old school bottles and actually wish more companies had stuck with them when the Chubby craze took off. One of the bottles from their True North line has a nice wooden looking background with their True North emblem plastered across the front while the other two flavours I received came with much more subdued looking labels that simply bear the CanadaVapes logo across the front along with the name and strength of the liquid underneath. The True North label has a classic look to it while the other two have a pretty simple Canadian house line look. They look nice enough and have all the usual information we like to see but I don’t believe that they are CCCR compliant at this point so hopefully they get them updated. The juices all come in a 70vg blend and the ones I got were in 3mg. Here’s a shot of the bottles I received:

Setup:

Testing was done mostly in a Hadaly clone with a three core alien(3×28/36ni80) build from the Canadian Coil makers SaddleHorse Blues, 4/5 wraps on a 2.5mm coming out to 0.28 ohms and running between 35-45w. Using Puff cotton, rda rinsed and rewicked in between. Here’s a shot of a fresh build:

Chinook

Site description: Experience the unique flavour of Mango with just a hint of Chilli in this one of a kind liquid.

My thoughts: A Chinook from CanadaVapes is a warm wind that blows in from the ocean into interior regions where it’s known to drastically impact weather systems. CanadaVapes takes that iconic weather phenomenon and pays tribute to it with Chinook a rather interesting mix of mango with a hint of chilli, yes you read that correctly a hint of chilli. It’s got to be one of the most unique flavours I’ve come across in all of my years vaping and reviewing and one that I likely won’t find anywhere else. This one I’m sure will be polarizing as I myself wasn’t quite sure what to make of it but it definitely gets points for uniqueness.

While in the culinary world mango and chilli are no strangers, in an eliquid I’ve got to say it’s a bit of an unusual if not uncommon mix. The mango I get from it is light, not very sweet and it doesn’t have that typical thick feeling I get from other mango flavours I’ve had. It’s thinner and lighter more like a flavoured water as opposed to fresh squeezed mango juice. It’s complimented by a very light touch of chilli. I was half expecting it to take my breath away after seeing the video of that guy vaping a Carolina reaper but obviously it wasn’t anything like that. Like it’s not actually spicy but it manages to give you the sensation of chilli without the actual burn. I guess it’s more of a taste than a feeling but it’s definitely different. It gives the mango a sort of spice that really changes the taste and feel of it. If you’ve ever had any kind spicy savoury dish made with mango you might have an idea of what to expect from this one.

Being that it’s so far out of my norm it’s not likely going to land itself on my ADV list, but this one like I said gets points for uniqueness and creativity. I’m always up for trying new things and I can honestly say I’ve never tried anything like this. If you’re feeling adventurous and are looking for something new and unique the warm winds of the Chinook might be calling you.

Canadian Smooth

Site description: With an authentic tobacco taste, cool undertone, and smooth delivery, Canadian Smooth from CanadaVapes should be your first choice.

My thoughts: I think CanadaVapes caught on to the fact that I like a good tobacco flavour and they included Canadian Smooth in the set they sent over. It looks like they have a whole series of Canadian tobacco flavours on their site with Canadian Smooth being one of their more popular and a best seller ever since they started selling juice. It’s a nice Canadian tobacco blend that’s soft and smooth with a nice hint of cooling menthol on the finish. It’s got an almost creamy feel to it which makes it taste more like a peppermint as opposed to a regular menthol that I don’t mind at all. The tobacco has a nice sweet dry cured taste to it like a classic Canadian would and it pairs really nicely with the creamy cool finish they’ve given it. It’s not quite like a menthol cigarette, almost more like I just had a peppermint patty and I’m enjoying a cigarette immediately after but it’s a nice clean and soothing tobacco flavour nonetheless. This one would be ideal for most tobacco fans especially former menthol smokers.

Key Lime Pie

Site description: Enjoy the refreshing, tangy, sweet taste of key lime pie!

My thoughts: I’ve tried my fair share of Key Lime flavours and for the most part they’re cut from the same cloth. Key Lime Pie is no exception it’s a bright and tangy mix of key lime and meringue. I don’t really pick up any kind of crust on this one just the classic taste of the uber green curd and a sweet dollop of meringue on top. One thing I haven’t mentioned yet is these flavours all tend to be a bit PG heavy which makes them feel a touch thin. They’ll work really well in tanks though which is where I put key lime pie almost right away. Now there’s nothing particularly mind blowing about this version of key lime pie from CanadaVapes but it’s nicely balanced with the sweet meringue and tart lime that I’ve really got nothing to complain about. Any fan of a good key lime will appreciate the clean and simple taste of this one. Not too sweet, not too tart just a nice take on a classic dessert.

Final thoughts:

One thing I barely touched on was the fact that all three flavours were a little thin. They seemed a bit PG heavy to me and ran like water which is great for wicking and flavour but if you’re not a fan of PG it’s something to be aware of. They are undoubtedly a house line but other than being a bit PG heavy I really don’t have any complaints with quality. And though I’m still trying to wrap my head around Chinook I found Canadian Smooth and Key Lime were nice and approachable and for a house line juice were quite well done. If you’re a native to London or are just in the market for something completely different Canada Vapes might have just what you are looking for, of course they have plenty of regular flavours too!!
